Gov Abdulrazaq names retd. Col. Lawal Education Fund chairman
October 9, 2024Today, we celebrate a remarkable milestone—the first official year of the Kwara State Education Trust Fund. It is more than just a celebration of time; it is a testament to the power of collective vision, unrelenting commitment, and hope for a brighter future for Kwara.
This past year has been one of extraordinary collaboration, marked by the convergence of great minds and leaders. From the wisdom of the Emir of Lafiagi, Alhaji Mohammed Kudu Kawu, to the guidance of the First Makama of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Saadudeen Oniye, to the contributions of dynamic leaders like Kemi Mary Adeosun, Professor Deborah Adekeye, Anthony Gana, Oluwatoyin Olawumi, Moses Oyelere, and Iyinoluwa Aboyeji. Together, under the steady and visionary leadership of our pioneer chairman, A.U. Mustapha S.A.N, we have sown seeds of change to build the future of Kwara through sustainable investments in education.
This journey would not have been possible without the strategic collaboration of our board of trustees with key stakeholders, including Alhaji Idris Saidu, whose expertise in finance and investments has been invaluable, and the dedicated teams at KwaraLEARN, Kwara SUBEB, and the Ministry of Education. Our joint focus on developing secondary school infrastructure and advancing the education sector has been deliberate and impactful.
As we now look ahead to our second year under the leadership of Chairman, RTD. Colonel Abdulwahab Ademola Lawal, Ph.D., we are filled with renewed energy and purpose. The year ahead promises to be even more transformative as we prepare to unveil new collaborations with KwaraLEARN and strengthen our support for Kwara SUBEB. Furthermore, we will be launching our comprehensive 5-year development plan, which highlights both the challenges and interventions required to fully realize the vision of His Excellency Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. This vision is one where accessible and inclusive education becomes the foundation for innovation, growth, and boundless opportunities for all Kwarans.
Today, we raise a toast—not just to a year gone by—but to the possibilities that lie ahead. To the students who dream of a brighter tomorrow, to the educators shaping minds, and to every stakeholder who has invested in this mission, thank you. Together, we will continue to build a legacy that inspires generations to come.
Cheers to Year 1, and here’s to an even brighter Year 2!
Thank you.
