Digital skills are the future, and Kwara is making sure our students are ready!
February 25, 2025The Kwara State Education Trust Fund (KwaraETF) has on Saturday, March 22, 2025, launched a new initiative to support top-performing pupils in writing the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) – reinforcing the state’s commitment to educational excellence and equal opportunities.
With financial challenges making it increasingly difficult for families to keep children in school, this initiative is designed to identify, support, and empower academically gifted students, ensuring that their potential is not hindered by economic barriers.

This initiative builds upon the success of KwaraLEARN, which has significantly improved learning outcomes, teacher accountability, and digital learning integration across the state’s public primary schools.
With three consecutive primary school graduating cohorts now benefiting from these reforms, this scholarship initiative ensures that their academic progress is sustained into secondary education.
The scholarship program follows a structured selection process:
- Statewide Mock Exam for the 640 top performing pupils – Conducted across all 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs) for 40 pupils per LGA to identify high-achieving primary school pupils in collaboration with KwaraLEARN.
- Sponsorship of NCEE Registration for 180 Top Scorers – Covering the official NCEE exam fees for students with the highest mock exam scores (11 per LGA plus four additional students selected on merit).
